From Bath: Stonehenge, Avebury & The Cotswolds (Small Group)｜United Kingdom

Departing Bath in the morning it won’t be long before we’re entering the charming countryside of the Cotswolds. Our first stop is the idyllic Cotswold settlement of Castle Combe, often called the 'prettiest village in England.' Its market cross, babbling brook, and honey-colored cottages create a scene straight from a storybook.

Next we continue to Lacock, a picture-perfect National Trust village where cobbled streets, medieval cottages, and traditional inns have made it a favorite filming location — from Harry Potter to Downton Abbey. Take time to stroll, take photos of filming locations, and enjoy a refreshment in a local tearoom.

This afternoon we travel on to Avebury, a remarkable site where an entire village sits within the world’s largest stone circle. Wander freely among the standing stones, touch them, and appreciate their extraordinary scale. We’ll remain in Avebury with time to have some lunch.

Then we continue through the rolling Wiltshire countryside to the world-famous Stonehenge. Have time to explore this prehistoric masterpiece; walk the perimeter of the great stone circle, visit the award-winning exhibition, and uncover the myths, legends, and archaeology of Britain’s most iconic ancient site. By late afternoon we’ll return to Bath, where our day concludes.
