Product Info

Kick-off your ancient Athens mythology experience with a visit to the magnificent Temple of Olympian Zeus, which was, and still is, the unofficial entry point to Athens. From there, your guide will take you all the way to the Theater of Dionysus then the magnificent Acropolis. In Acropolis, visit the Temple of Athena Nike, the Temple of Erechtheion, the Propylaia, and the marvelous Parthenon. Here, the most famous ancient myths come to life as your guide tells you stories of almighty Zeus, his daughter Athena (the goddess of wisdom and protector of Athens), Poseidon (the god of the sea), and Dionysus (the god of wine). Even more intriguing, you will also find out the truths behind the myths and why the Ancient Greeks created them.

Continue to the Ancient Agora. Here is where democracy was born and where great philosophers including Socrates spoke about global truths. Learn about Theseus and the Minotaur, Hera (the ever-jealous wife of Zeus), and Aphrodite (the goddess of love and beauty). The next stop is the Ancient Cemetery of Keramikos, where myths of life and death will help you understand how Athens gained its reputation with immortal and legendary monuments. Spend free time getting lunch then continue to one of the world's most important museums, the Acropolis Museum. This is filled with a vast collection of beautiful objects from thousands of years ago and is world-famous for the stunning Parthenon Marbles.

No ancient Athens experience is complete without meeting the people of Athens. You will be introduced to two Athenians from the city’s Golden Age, whose everyday lives you will explore as you move through the exhibits. Their personal stories are hidden in the artifacts that you will encounter at the museum. Your expert guide will lead the way, connecting the past to the present through a series of fun games and activities allowing you to learn all about Ancient Greek history and culture. By the time you finish this adventure, you will know what made this ancient city so special and you will understand the modern relevance of its crowning glory, the Acropolis.
