Equipment Required for Ski Lessons: Skis, ski boots, ski poles, ski jacket, ski pants, ski gloves, goggles, helmet (mandatory)
Equipment Required for Snowboard Lessons: Snowboard, snowboard boots, ski jacket, ski pants, ski gloves, goggles, helmet (mandatory)
Snow and Flow prioritizes your safety: wearing a helmet is mandatory for the entire lesson. If you are learning snowboarding for the first time, we strongly recommend additional protective gear, including knee pads, hip pads, wrist guards, and elbow pads. Since most ski rental shops do not provide protective gear, Snow and Flow offers a dedicated protective gear rental service for our clients. Please contact us for details if you wish to rent this equipment.
If you need to rent ski equipment on the day of class, we recommend allowing 30 minutes to 1 hour (depending on the number of people that day) for renting and trying on. If you need an instructor to accompany you for renting, it will be counted within the class time. Please inform us in advance and we will be happy to arrange it for you.
It is recommended to wear comfortable, breathable, and warm innerwear and ski socks under your ski jacket/pants (jeans are not recommended). For more information on ski clothing, please refer to the Snow Wave blog article: https://reurl.cc/E6GnQa
If the ski resort is closed on the day of the class and the course cannot be held, the Snow Wave team will contact you to reschedule the class or process a refund, and will try their best to help you complete the rest of your trip.
From Sapporo city, you can reach Sapporo Kokusai, Teine, or ONZE Ski Resorts via various transportation methods. Public bus services are available from central Sapporo, often departing from Sapporo Station or Odori. Many resorts also offer shuttle buses from designated pick-up points in the city. For greater convenience, private charter car services can be arranged, offering direct door-to-door transfer, which is especially suitable for families or those with significant equipment.
Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort is known for its abundant snowfall and varied terrain, suitable for all skill levels, with excellent powder snow. Teine Ski Resort, a former Olympic venue, offers challenging courses and stunning views of the city and sea. Sapporo Teine is closer to the city, making it easily accessible. ONZE Ski Resort is typically considered smaller and more family-friendly, often a good choice for beginners or those seeking a relaxed experience closer to the city.
Snow Wave's private ski lessons are ideal for individuals, families, or small groups of up to four people who seek personalized instruction. They are effective because professional instructors with international teaching licenses provide tailored guidance, allowing for flexible adjustments to the curriculum and schedule based on the students' progress and specific needs. This small group setting ensures more focused attention and efficient learning compared to larger group lessons.
Snow Wave private ski lessons are suitable for a wide range of ages, from young children just starting their skiing journey to adults looking to refine advanced techniques. The private nature of the lessons allows instructors to adapt their teaching methods and pace to the age and developmental stage of each participant, ensuring a safe and engaging learning experience for everyone.
A 6-hour private ski lesson offers ample time to develop a range of skills. Beginners can focus on foundational techniques like gliding, stopping, and basic turns. Intermediate skiers can work on improving parallel turns, controlling speed on varied terrain, and handling different snow conditions. Advanced skiers might concentrate on carving, off-piste techniques, or mastering moguls, with the full-day format allowing for significant progression and practice.
The cost of private ski lessons at Sapporo Kokusai, Teine, or ONZE Ski Resorts can be influenced by several factors. These often include the duration of the lesson, such as a half-day versus a full-day program, the number of participants in the private group (usually lessons accommodate up to four people), and the specific qualifications or language capabilities of the instructor. Peak season dates can also affect availability and rates.
Snow Wave prioritizes clear and effective communication during lessons. Their professional ski instructors are available to provide instruction in multiple languages. You can arrange for lessons taught in Chinese (Mandarin), Cantonese, or English, ensuring a barrier-free and comfortable learning experience for international visitors at Sapporo's ski resorts.
