— What You Can Expect —
With crystal-clear and calm waters, and coral reefs filled with an abundance of thriving marine wildlife, Koh Tao is an ideal place for scuba diving, whether you're a beginner with no experience or a seasoned diver.
You'll start your underwater adventure with an open water course at well-known Koh Tao Scuba Club. The course lasts three days and entails six dives. Two of these dives are confined dives, where participants practice techniques and learn how to feel secure and comfortable underwater. The remaining four dives are open water dives at four distinct dive sites. To participate in the course, you don't need any prior diving experience. Class sizes are kept small so that every student gets plenty of attention from the outstanding staff of qualified instructors.
— Itinerary —
Day 1: Academics + Diving
- Meet your SSI instructor and fellow students, and start the first academic session
- Short break for lunch before jumping into confined water for basic scuba diving training to get you more comfortable with being under water
Day 2 : Academics + Diving Skills
- Start the academic session in the morning before hopping on a boat and spending the rest of the afternoon diving at two different open water locations
- Your first dive will teach you how to get used to the ocean by focusing on skills, techniques, and exercises
- Your next and final dive of the day will simply be a fun time of diving with your instructor and exploring the deep blue ocean
Day 3 - Diving + Exam
- Enjoy two dives at a maximum depth of 18 meters, which is the maximum allowed for an open-water diver!
- Spend the last diving sessions of your course by having a purely fun time diving, with no training and no exercises — just a great afternoon of swimming in the ocean and exploring marine wildlife
- After completing your final two open water dives, head back to the school for an exam and get certified to dive for life!
