— What You Can Expect —

  • Duration: 5 days, 4 nights
  • Return: Back to the airport after check out on Day 5
  • Day 1
Arrive in Yellowknife and settle into your accommodation before venturing out into the night to search for the aurora borealis. Learn about camera settings from your guide as your vehicle takes you to search for this amazing experience in the deep wilderness of the Northwest Territories.

  • Day 2
Join your tour guide for a daytime journey of Yellowknife's ice road, which is built on Great Slave Lake, the world's largest and deepest lake. Take some stunning pictures and enjoy the scenery. Go to the aboriginal tribe Dettah, visit the local aboriginal life track by car, and understand the historical background story of the tribe. As night falls, you will head to a warm and snug lake-view cabin to enjoy the magnificent Northern Lights. There are also traditional tents and viewing platforms in the camp, offering a 360-degree view with no blind spots. The wooden house is equipped with fragrant fresh soup and bread, which will warm your body, mind, and soul, satisfy your taste buds, and chat with other travelers from afar about travel anecdotes. Cultural exchange is super easy!

*If the cabins are closed on the tour day, alternatives will be arc-top tents or Aboriginal camp

  • Day 3
Visit a dog sledding kennel and interact with the friendly team of sled dogs who are the defending Canadian Dog Derby winners. Take an exciting journey down the icy tracks while learning about training and racing from a professional dog musher. Bring your camera and take videos or pictures whilst sledding on frozen lakes and trails.
At night, you will go to a local Aboriginal camp to experience the most traditional and authentic Aboriginal culture and have the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the tribe’s evolution and historical stories. While admiring the graceful dance of the shining Aurora, you can also enjoy aboriginal specialty snacks and participate in aboriginal drumming performances, achieving your first aboriginal experience in a day!

*If the Aboriginal camp is closed on the tour day, alternatives will be lake-view cabins or arc-top tents

  • Day 4

At night, join your driver for the last night of the aurora hunting tour
