Reims: small winemakers champagne tasting by a sommelier｜France

"In defeat we need it, in victory we deserve it" said Sir Winston Churchill about our most distinguished sparkling white wine.

But first of all, champagne is about land (quite chalky), about climate (continental with rainy winters and hot summers) and finally about technique (two fermentations in the bottle). I work as an exporting agent for several small scale but very qualitative family-owned wineries ; it is these winemakers I prefer to show : famous champagne house certainly have contempory art filled great cellars and white gloves to serve. I prefer show you champagne as it is for the locals : a history, a technique and of course a business.
