商品説明

This private tour offers a profound and educational journey to the site of the former Bełżec Extermination Camp, one of the most significant yet least-known locations associated with the Holocaust. Located in southeastern Poland, Bełżec was the first of the Nazi German extermination centers established under Operation Reinhard—the plan to annihilate the Jewish population of occupied Poland.

During the tour, visitors will explore the modern Memorial and Museum built on the grounds of the former camp. The museum's exhibition presents the history of the camp, the fate of its victims, and the broader context of the Holocaust in occupied Europe. Through historical photographs, testimonies, documents, and multimedia displays, guests gain insight into one of the darkest chapters of the Second World War.

Bełżec operated from March to December 1942 and served exclusively as a killing center. Historians estimate that at least 434,000–450,000 Jews were murdered there, primarily from the Kraków, Lublin, and Galicia regions, as well as from Germany, Austria, Slovakia, and the Czech lands. The camp became a model for later extermination centers at Sobibór and Treblinka, where similar methods of mass murder were employed.

Visitors will walk through the memorial grounds, which mark the area of mass graves and cremation sites. The striking architectural design symbolizes the destruction of an entire community and serves as a place of remembrance for the victims whose lives were lost there. Following the closure of the camp, Nazi authorities attempted to erase evidence of their crimes by dismantling the facilities, exhuming and burning bodies, and covering the site with soil and vegetation. The present memorial preserves the memory of those events and honors the victims.

Throughout the tour, your guide will provide historical context about Operation Reinhard, the implementation of the "Final Solution," and the experiences of Jewish communities in occupied Poland. The visit encourages reflection on the consequences of intolerance, antisemitism, and totalitarian ideology while preserving the memory of the victims for future generations.
