商品説明
Explore the former Jewish Ghetto in Podgórze with a licensed expert guide and gain a deeper, more personal understanding of Kraków’s World War II history. Walk through authentic streets where everyday life once unfolded under Nazi occupation, and reflect on how ordinary places became scenes of fear, resilience, and survival.
This guided walk focuses on real locations and human stories, offering a meaningful perspective on the lived experiences of the Jewish community. The tour begins near Schindler’s Factory, where you’ll be introduced to the historical context of the occupation and how this district became closely tied to forced labor and wartime industry.
From there, continue to the preserved fragments of the former Ghetto Wall—stark reminders of the boundaries that once confined the Jewish population. The route then leads to Ghetto Heroes Square, once the central space of the ghetto and a site linked to deportations, now transformed into a place of remembrance marked by the Memorial of Chairs.
Across the square stands the Under the Eagle Pharmacy, where, from the outside, you’ll hear the story of pharmacist Tadeusz Pankiewicz and his staff, who risked their lives to support ghetto residents with medicine, shelter, and acts of compassion—an enduring example of courage in the face of oppression.
