Meet your guide at Dam Square. After the introductions, we'll head along a carefully crafted route into Amsterdam’s underworld.
Discover the realities of the Red Light District, and the paradox of a 700-year old church surrounded by ladies self-advertising behind windows. Learn about its long history and its impact after legalization in 2000. Learn about the reduction and the potential removal of the windows, the revenue the government earns, the prices charged, the average time a customer spends behind a window, and a sex worker’s “business etiquette”.
The grass is always greener at the coffeeshops; learn about its history and its impact on the city and the Netherlands at large. Learn why it may or may not be wise to take “space cake” and visit the Van Gogh Museum, and find out why Smartshops don’t always improve your raw IQ, but might increase your love of nature.
Along the way we’ll learn about the wild side of Amsterdam’s night life, the drug deliveries that arrive faster than your average pizza, the night-long raves, and the underground parties that make even the seasoned clubber shudder.
