Join a thought-provoking walking tour through Prague’s public spaces and uncover the city’s unexpected connections to European colonialism. Although the Czech lands were never a colonial power, traces of colonial thinking still linger in statues, architecture, museums, and national art.
Explore how exoticism, racial hierarchies, and imperial ideologies are reflected in places you may pass every day without noticing. From 19th-century exhibitions to public monuments and overlooked museum collections, this tour reveals a hidden layer of the city’s history.
Perfect for curious travelers, students, and anyone interested in decolonial perspectives, this is not your typical sightseeing experience. The goal is not to shame the past, but to better understand it – and to reflect on how it still shapes our present.
Tours are in English, last about 1.5 hours, and include plenty of time for discussion and questions. Come walk, reflect, and see Prague with new eyes.
