商品説明
People come from all over the world to taste Belgian chocolate, and on this 90-minute tasting walk you'll discover why. Rather than the countless average makers filling the city, we take you only to the very best — the royal chocolatiers, world champions and inventive artisans who have made Brussels a capital of chocolate.
We meet on the Grand Place, the medieval heart of the city, where your guide sets the scene: how cacao reached Europe, how it came to Belgium, and how it grew into a symbol of the nation itself. From there we stroll into the Royal Galleries Saint-Hubert, an elegant glass-roofed arcade of 1847 and the very place where the filled Belgian praline was born.
Along the way you'll taste at some of the city's finest houses. Herman Van Dender, chocolatier to the royal family, was named the best in Brussels by Gault&Millau in 2023. Corné Dynastie has been run by five generations of the same family for over a century. Mary, founded in 1919 by the city's first female chocolatier, became the first house to hold a royal warrant. Pierre Marcolini, named the world's best pastry chef in 2020, treats chocolate as fine art and pioneered ethical bean-to-bar sourcing. And Laurent Gerbaud is celebrated for weaving Asian flavours into his traditional Belgian craft. When timing allows, we may also step into a genuine working atelier at Choco-Story to see chocolate made from bean to bar.
Across the walk you'll enjoy five generous tastings — pralines, truffles and ganache — each chosen to reveal a different side of the craft.
