In the late Middle Ages, wellness experienced its first boom with the advent of public bathhouses. Visiting a bathhouse—there were three public bathhouses in Meissen—was one of the basic needs of people at that time. Here, people would meet to cleanse themselves, eat, chat, and enjoy themselves together. Join our Meissen bath attendant on a journey through the Old Town to the sites of the medieval bathhouses and pleasure houses, and bring “lust, pleasure, and sin” back to life.
