Start your day with a choice of two panda experiences: the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding or Dujiangyan Panda Valley.
At the moment, the Dujiangyan Zhonghua Giant Panda Garden, which previously offered one of the best panda experiences in the area, is temporarily closed for renovation and upgrading. For this reason, we recommend visiting the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding instead.
The Chengdu base offers a particularly rewarding experience, with a larger number of giant pandas and the opportunity to see adorable panda cubs. Morning is also the best time to visit, when the pandas are generally more active and can be seen eating bamboo, climbing, playing, and exploring their enclosures.
Your English-speaking guide will accompany you throughout the visit, sharing interesting stories about the pandas and explaining the important conservation work taking place here.

Afternoon | The Highlight: Exclusive Red Panda Experience
In the afternoon, travel to the Dujiangyan Red Panda Forest Park, a quieter and lesser-known destination dedicated to the conservation and breeding of red pandas.
This is the special highlight of your day: an exclusive red panda experience reserved for your private group, without joining other tourists.
Under the guidance of professional keepers, you’ll have the opportunity to observe the red pandas at very close range and watch their feeding session. The keepers will introduce you to their behavior, diet, personalities, and the conservation work being carried out to protect these beautiful and endangered animals.
You may also have the opportunity to prepare their specially formulated food with the keepers and learn how their daily diet is carefully designed to support their health. Afterwards, you’ll see the keepers offer the food to the red pandas, creating a wonderfully personal and memorable experience.
The experience is designed to be close, peaceful, and immersive, giving you a much more intimate encounter with red pandas than a typical visit to a crowded tourist attraction.
At the end of the day, your guide and private vehicle will take you back to your hotel in Chengdu.
