―“Tsugu minä perhonen” exhibition―

Minä Perhonen, a fashion and textile brand that will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2025, begins its craftsmanship with textile creation. At the entrance to the venue, approximately 180 types of textiles are displayed, selected from the more than 1,000 designs that have been created to date.

Starting with fashion and using original textiles based on the concept of "special everyday wear," their activities have gradually expanded to interiors, tableware, food, accommodations, and more, and are now not limited to fashion alone.

This exhibition, comprised of six chapters, allows visitors to experience various forms of "continuing" in each chapter, from the serious engagement with craftsmanship and the process of shaping items, to the techniques and works that have been passed down through time.

—A special collaboration only available in Kumamoto—

In Kumamoto, the chosen venue for the exhibition, a special collaboration between traditional crafts that have been passed down through generations and minä perhonen has been realized.

Minä Perhonen focused on traditional folk toys from Kumamoto. Minä Perhonen's warm perspective, honed through their craftsmanship, blended with the sentiments and techniques passed down in the world of Kumamoto's traditional crafts, giving rise to new forms of expression. The works created through this special collaboration will be exhibited for the first time at the Museum of Contemporary Art Kumamoto.
