The event will be held even in light rain. However, it may be canceled in the event of severe weather (typhoons, strong winds, etc.), rising water levels along the Shinano River, or any other situation where the fireworks display is expected to pose a danger. The decision to cancel will be made by the Nagaoka Festival Committee early in the morning on the day of the event. Therefore, if the event is canceled, you may be notified by staff on the morning of the event or at the meeting place.
Items to bring on the day: Rain gear, flashlight, insect repellent, etc. *Please bring a raincoat. Please refrain from using umbrellas as they will obstruct the view of the fireworks and inconvenience other attendees.
Please bring a flashlight as the route from the bus parking lot to the event venue is dark. For the fireworks display, it may take 30-40 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the viewing area.
The viewing area does not have chairs. Bringing a mat or blanket would be convenient. (Bringing in folding chairs is not permitted). Also, the location of the viewing area is not fixed. Depending on your seat location, you may have an oblique view of the fireworks or have an otherwise obstructed view.
