Kochi Yosakoi Festival

The Yosakoi Festival is a four-day festival held annually on August 9th (eve of the festival), 10th and 11th (the two main days), and 12th (after-party and national competition). Approximately 200 teams and 18,000 dancers participate in the festival at nine competition venues and seven performance venues throughout Kochi City. They dance through the city, clacking naruko (wooden clappers) and performing elaborate dances on beautifully decorated floats. Enjoy the spectacle from your seat in the viewing stands!
