  • This trekking tour covers the entire Shiretoko Five Lakes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a special protected area of Shiretoko National Park, including the elevated boardwalk. This groundbreaking forest adventure experience is the first of its kind in Japan, and is led by a licensed guide through areas inhabited by brown bears. You can observe not only the lakes, but also wildlife, wild birds, alpine plants, autumn leaves, and other seasonal changes in nature. Because no animals are fed, all the creatures you encounter are genuine wild animals.
  • ☆A quiet walking tour through a special protected area with limited numbers of participants☆彡
  • Due to the Natural Parks Act, there is a limit of 10 people per tour from May 10th to July 31st, allowing you to experience the tranquil forest and lake. The 3km walk takes 2 hours and 40 minutes, so you have plenty of time to take photos.
  • ☆Price includes admission fee, lecture fee, consumption tax, and rubber boot rental.☆
  • There is no complicated fee system where various additional fees are added after registration; the fee includes admission fees, lecture fees, and consumption tax. The guide will also handle the complicated admission procedures for you. If you let us know your size in advance, we can lend you rain boots for free.
  • ☆Guided tour by a licensed guide registered with the Shiretoko Five Lakes☆
  • Your tour will be guided by a registered Shiretoko Five Lakes guide who has passed various tests, including first aid and what to do if you encounter a brown bear. The trail may be closed due to brown bear sightings, snowfall, storms, etc. If we know of a closure in advance, we will contact you via mobile device and offer you the option of canceling (free of charge), an alternative course (same price), or a different date and time, if you wish.
