- Introduction to Shui Xinyue Teahouse -
Castle in the Sky, ever-changing
Here, with a pot of fragrant tea, gazing at the mountains and the sea, fatigue and depression will be swept away, and you can experience the aesthetics of life with all five senses.
Shui Xinyue Teahouse was originally called "Castle in the Sky." Standing in its unobstructed expanse, overlooking the fishing ports of northeastern Taiwan, shrouded in mist, it resembled a castle in the sky. Much like the fate of our original shop, Jiufen Teahouse, the tea-drinking culture brought in huge crowds, and the name Jiufen became more than just a teahouse could bear. Castle in the Sky, also famous thanks to the film, has no connection to the Mountain City Teahouse.
This red brick building, a rare sight in Jiufen, boasts a unique architectural structure and has been designated a "Model Building" by the New Taipei City Government. Originally the private creative space of artist Hung Chi-sheng, it has since been transformed into a museum showcasing the beauty of tea, pottery, and painting. Here, visitors can enjoy a cup of tea while gazing at the mountains and the sea, experiencing a five-sense aesthetic. Jiufen Teahouse's sister establishment, Shui Xinyue Teahouse, located at No. 308 Qingbian Road, reopened on May 10, 2005, after a six-month renovation. The interior design has been enhanced with artistic elements, creating an immersive artistic atmosphere. A cup of fragrant tea can quickly dispel any traveler's fatigue and melancholy.
Every floor is covered with paintings created and collected by the owner, and the windows are filled with a wide selection of teas and ceramics, fully highlighting the owner's love for tea, pottery, and painting. Through sharing experiences about these, visitors can engage in intellectual and emotional exchanges and interactions, enjoying a truly leisurely half-day. From Shen'ao Bay, Badouzi Peninsula, Bisha Fishing Harbor, Heping Island, Keelung Harbor, Yehliu Peninsula, and Jinshan Tiaoshi Coast, the view unfolds before our eyes. The mountain mists and sea fogs of the day, the setting sun at dusk, and the street lights and fishing lights at night are a continuous display of the ever-changing scenery of northern Taiwan's coastline. If you have the opportunity to visit Jiufen, please enjoy it all!
