1) 70 minutes tour: Mt. Wakakusa and the famous deers of Nara

Leave the historical temples and shrines behind, and enjoy the lush greenery of Mt Wakakusa which is entirely covered with grass instead. On clear days you can also see the skyline of Nara city.

Feed the deer with deer biscuits provided by our company. Rest assured, the deer at the Mt. Wakakusa are gentle (the ones by the Todaiji Temple however are ferocious, so do be careful).

2) 130 minutes tour: Unkei Buddhist statue tour, a must-see tour for those interested in Japanese Buddhist statues

Explore and learn all about the Buddhist statues created by Japan's most talented Buddhist sculptors. Enjoy the detailed explanations from your guide, who knows everything about Nara,

This tour includes visits to the Kofukuji Temple's National Treasure Hall, Tokondo Hall, Chukondo Hall, and the Todaiji Temple's Nandaimon Gate.

3) 190 minutes: World heritage tour

Visit Nara's proud World Heritage Sites, Todaiji Temple and Kasuga Taisha Shrine.

Enjoy the ride through 'Naramachi', where the old townscape remains.

Visit a traditional sake brewery in Nara, the birthplace of Japanese sake. Purchasing a bottle to take home is possible too.

※ Each rickshaw has 2 seats and can accommodate a maximum of 2 adults. Up to 2 children (5 years and under) can ride with 2 adults (children have to ride on each adult's lap) without extra cost, but if the child will be taking up a seat on the rickshaw, they must book as an adult paying the full fare.

※ Generally tours finish at the starting point but the finishing location can be customized. Please consult directly with your guide.

  • Please arrive at the designated location 5 minute(s) before the scheduled departure time, as the tour will depart on time

  • Tour will take place regardless of the weather conditions and cancellations due to bad weather will not be accepted. However, in case of situations where tours are not able to take place due to force majeure, we will inform you as soon as possible regarding tour cancellation and refunds will be processed in such cases.

  • Each rickshaw has 2 seats and can accommodate a maximum of 2 adults. Up to 2 children (5 years and under) can ride with 2 adults (children have to ride on each adult's lap) without extra cost, but if the child will be taking up a seat on the rickshaw, they must book as an adult paying the full fare.

  • While rickshaws are able to fit 2 adults, each rickshaw is 21.1 inches (74 centimeters) wide. It may be more comfortable to book individual rickshaws for each passenger so please take this into consideration before booking.

  • This tour is wheelchair and stroller-friendly. Please leave a memo when booking if you will need special accommodations.

  • This tour is not recommended for expecting mothers in their first 16 weeks of pregnancy.

  • This tour can be customized depending on your interest; please consult with your guide.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations 2 day(s) (inclusive) before the selected date are allowed. Unused orders can be canceled for free
  • Cancellation is not allowed between 0–1 days from the selected date. Orders cannot be canceled or modified, and refunds will not be granted.

  • Due to time zone differences, the confirmed cancellation date is based on the supplier’s local time. Please allow 2–5 business days to process your cancellation request, after which the cancellation fee will be charged according to the product’s cancellation policy.
