KKday recommends a one-day tour to explore the "Sha Tau Kok Restricted Area" and Sha Tau Kok Farm!
Sha Tau Kok is located in the North District of the New Territories of Hong Kong, bordering Yantian District of Shenzhen City in the mainland. It was listed as a border restricted area in 1951. With the gradual opening up of the area, Sha Tau Kok has now transformed into a good local day trip destination. It’s a rare opportunity to explore Hong Kong’s secluded places that require a restricted area ticket to enter!
You can also go to Sha Tau Kok Farm to see small animals, visit the railway station exhibition hall, DIY Hakka tea cakes, and an all-you-can-eat BBQ barbecue will be arranged for lunch, so you can experience the fun of doing it yourself!
