  • Kansai Area Pass: Within the validity period, unlimited rides on HARUKA/rapid/ordinary trains between Kansai Airport (KIX) - Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Nara, Himeji, Wakayama, Shiga, Tsuruga, Iga Ueno
  • Validity Period: 1/2/3/4 days from the start date, travelers must designate the date of use upon redemption (within 30 days of redemption)
  • To reserve a seat, please present the JR PASS to the Green ticket counter or Green ticket machine. Seat reservation is not allowed until JR PASS is successfully redeemed

  1. Kansai Area Pass is valid for unlimited travel in the valid area on the map. 
  2. Valid trains are below:
    - Reserved seats on Kansai-airport Express HARUKA

  3. The pass is only valid on WEST JAPAN JR BUS route buses within the valid area. The pass cannot be used on expressway buses

- WEST QR E-Ticket -

  • JR Kansai Area Pass
    With the Kansai Area Pass, travelers can enjoy unlimited rides on the HARUKA Express, as well as local and rapid trains, between Kansai Airport and major destinations including Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Nara, Himeji, Wakayama, Shiga, Tsuruga, and Iga-Ueno during the validity period.
  • Validity Period: You must specify the intended start date when redeeming the ticket (the selected date must be within 30 days from the date of redemption). Once activated, the pass is valid for 1/2/3/4 consecutive days starting from the first day of use.
  • The "WEST QR E-Ticket" is used differently from the "physical ticket". There is no need to exchange tickets at the station. You only need your smartphone to use the ticket and access the ride.

  • Each adult or Japan JR Kansai Area Pass holder may bring 2 children aged 1 - 5 for free, the third (and so on) child will require a child pass, please consider before booking

  • Children who require a reserved seat in an ordinary car and individual children are required to purchase a child pass
  • This ticket allows for a maximum of two rides in the designated seating area


ー WEST QR E-Ticket Purchase Notes ー

  • Use your smartphone to visit the "WEST QR Service Website" and scan the QR Code to pass through the automatic ticket gate. For detailed instructions, please refer to this guide.
  • If all reserved seats have been unavailable or if you have not reserved a seat in advance, you can use the unreserved seat directly.
  • Unused WEST QR tickets are fully refundable within the validity period.
  • Preparation:
    1. Collect the "WEST QR Ticket (Voucher)".
    2. Access the "WEST QR Service Website" from the link on your "WEST QR Ticket".
    3. Enter a valid email address, a custom password, and your country to complete account creation.
    4. After logging in to the "WEST QR Service Website", a pop-up window will appear asking you whether to bind your ticket. Please select the option you wish to use.
    ※You can also enter the serial number on the "WEST QR Service website" to bind.
    5. "HARUKA" reserved seats can be selected on the "WEST QR Service website" and seats can be reserved from 30 days in advance to 3 minutes before the train departure.
    ※Note: "HARUKA" reserved seats cannot be reserved at the ticket machines or windows in the stations. You can only select seats from the "WEST QR ticket exclusive seats". If the reserved seats are unavailable, you can select non-reserved seats or "WEST QR reserved seats" on other trains.
  • Steps for using on the day:
    1. Visit the "WEST QR Service website" and log in using your registered account.
    2. Select the ticket you want to use from the ticket list.
    3. Click the "Start Using" button on the ticket details page to submit your application to activate the ticket.
    ※Please only activate your ticket on the day of use!
    ※Once you click "Start using", the ticket will be considered used even if you did not use it on that day.
    4. The QR Code will be displayed on the ticket details page. Align the QR CODE with the red QR CODE scanner on the automatic gate to pass through the gate.
