First stop:
<Itinerary A> Visit the stunning ice sculpture festival [Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival] limited to winter from Jan 31-Feb 23*
Admire the nearly 13m-tall giant ice pillar Blue Giant Tower, the ice shrine, and over 30 ice pillars of various shapes.
<Itinerary B> Days other than the Ice Festival period from Jan 30-Feb 23: Hill of the Buddha
The Hill of the Buddha was designed by world-renowned architect Tadao Ando.
From the outside, you can only see the top of the Buddha statue's head, which is mysterious and adds a sense of solemnity.
The atmosphere inside the Buddha hall is incredibly peaceful, and the serene expression of the Buddha statue allows you to temporarily escape the hustle and bustle of the world.
Second stop:
Lunch is at your own expense. We will take you to [Tomakomai Seafood Market]** to enjoy famous seafood. There are various seafood bowls, rich and delicious curry rice made with the largest surf clams in Japan produced in Tomakomai, grilled seafood (fish, oysters, shrimp, scallops, surf clams, etc.), Chinese cuisine, and Italian bistros.
Third stop:
Head to the [Roadside Station Chitose] renovated in 2023 to browse unique souvenir shops.
Salmon-shaped curry bread, fresh milk ice cream desserts from Kobayashi Farm in Ebetsu, Hokkaido, and various souvenirs exclusive to Roadside Station Chitose!
Fourth stop:
Finally, visit the [Ice Village]*** limited to winter nights at Hoshino Resorts Tomamu.
The Ice Church, bar, hotel, slide, and ramen shop built with giant ice blocks inside are very interesting!
