In the middle of Ginza, if you go through the yellow tunnel that leads underground, you will find SCHEVENINGEN, a hidden restaurant that has been in business for 30 years. The restaurant's unusual name is actually the name of a North Sea resort town on the outskirts of The Hague in the Netherlands. When the owner visited the restaurant in 1979, he thought, "I want to name my restaurant after this!" and immediately met with the mayor of The Hague, who gave him the name. SCHEVENINGEN is a restaurant where you can enjoy authentic southern Italian cuisine at reasonable prices.
The most popular dish by far is the Frittata. This dish is made by mixing eggs in a special meat sauce and baking it like an omelette. The outside is crispy, and when you tear it apart, the pasta is soft and chewy inside, all mixed with the sauce... This is an original Scheveningen menu. In the evening, we recommend the course menu. Choose your pasta and enjoy all-you-can-drink, starting from 3,000 yen. Try the signature dish for the evening, Carne di Rosolo, a layered baked dish of pork loin, tomato, and cheese.
If you want to pair Southern Italian cuisine with wine, you'll want it. It goes great with pasta, appetizers, fish, and meat dishes. Wine bottles are available from as low as 2,000 yen. Even if you don't drink much wine on a daily basis, this is a great opportunity to try it. In addition to wine, we also have beer and whiskey, as well as original cocktails such as the sweet and easy-to-drink Scheveningen 3713, made with a gin base, lemon syrup, and soda.
Scheveningen is located on the first basement floor. The walls of the stairs leading down to the basement are painted in bright yellow, with grapes, garlic, and lemons painted on them, creating a pop atmosphere. Once you pass through the yellow tunnel, you'll find yourself in a retro space reminiscent of a private home in southern Italy. There's a warm, nostalgic feeling to the atmosphere. There are only tables, with seating for two. You can enjoy home-cooked meals in a relaxed atmosphere.
Located in the sophisticated city of Ginza, Scheveningen has been in business for 30 years with the same taste and price.
