This usually includes a kimono, an obi (sash), traditional Japanese footwear (zori), a small bag, and all necessary undergarments and accessories to ensure a proper and comfortable fit. The professional dressing service is also part of the package, guiding you through the authentic wearing process.

2. Can non-Japanese visitors enjoy the Kitaya Kimono experience in Tanukikoji Shopping Street?

Absolutely, the Kitaya Kimono experience is designed for all visitors, regardless of nationality. The staff is experienced in assisting international guests with kimono selection and dressing. Furthermore, services are available in multiple languages, including Chinese, English, Japanese, and Thai, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable cultural immersion for everyone.

3. What should I wear underneath when dressing in a Kitaya Kimono?

For optimal comfort and to ensure the kimono drapes correctly, it is recommended to wear light, thin clothing underneath. For women, a camisole or a thin t-shirt and leggings are ideal. Bras that are overly padded or have thick straps might affect the kimono's silhouette, so choosing something less bulky is advised. Kitaya provides essential traditional undergarments to complete the dressing.

4. How convenient is the location of Kitaya Kimono in Sapporo for sightseeing?

The Kitaya Kimono shop boasts a highly convenient location, situated directly within Sapporo's bustling Tanukikoji Shopping Street. This central spot means it's easily accessible by public transportation. Additionally, major sightseeing attractions such as Odori Park and the historic Hokkaido Provincial Government Office are all within comfortable walking distance, allowing you to easily explore after your fitting.

5. What kind of kimono styles are available at Kitaya Kimono?

Kitaya Kimono offers a wide and diverse selection, with hundreds of kimonos featuring various patterns, colors, and designs. You can choose from elegant, traditional Japanese, or cute styles to suit your personal preference. 6. Does Kitaya Kimono offer multilingual support for international visitors?

Yes, Kitaya Kimono is well-equipped to assist international visitors with comprehensive multilingual support. The staff provides services in four languages: Chinese, English, Japanese, and Thai. This ensures that you can comfortably communicate your preferences, understand the dressing process, and have any questions answered throughout your kimono experience.

7. How long can I typically wear the Kitaya Kimono after dressing?

You can typically enjoy wearing your Kitaya Kimono for a substantial part of the day after your dressing is complete. Most rental packages are structured to allow you to wear the kimono for a full day, requiring its return before the shop closes in the evening. This provides ample time to visit nearby attractions, take photos, and fully immerse yourself in the cultural experience.

8. What preparations should I make before my Kitaya Kimono fitting?

Before your Kitaya Kimono fitting, it's advisable to arrive on time for your appointment. Consider doing your hair and makeup beforehand if you have a specific style in mind, as accessories will be added during the fitting. You should also be prepared to remove your outer layers of clothing for the dressing process. Bringing a small bag for your personal belongings is also recommended.
