The Alpine Route is expected to be crowded. Depending on the congestion, your departure from the hotel on the second day may be early in the morning, and breakfast may be a packed lunch.
When traveling along the Alpine Route, you will need to carry your own luggage, or it can be transported by a large bus. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to luggage during bus transport. We recommend that you pack your own belongings in a backpack or similar bag.
On your return trip, the bus may depart from Gohyakkoku instead of Tateyama. In that case, you will need to travel to Gohyakkoku by train (Toyama Chihō Railway) (approximately 40 minutes, fare covered by the company).
Snowfall amounts vary depending on weather conditions.
Accommodation options include either pension-style or city hotel-style accommodations. In the case of pension-style accommodations, the facilities are smaller, so the front desk, dining area, and public bath may be crowded.
If you are booking with an odd number of people, your bus seating may be shared with members of other groups.
This tour is conducted in Japanese only.
Please be punctual during the tour. If you are late, the tour will depart.
Bus schedules vary depending on the departure point.

Due to traffic conditions, weather conditions, etc., some sightseeing spots may be omitted, the itinerary may be rearranged, there may be significant delays in the return time, or the duration of stays at accommodations and sightseeing spots may not be as planned.
For children aged 3-5, a travel fee of 25,000 yen is required to cover bus seating, hotel facility usage fees (without bedding, but includes meals if buffet style), and various transportation costs.
While a full traverse of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route can be completed in one day, a two-day itinerary is recommended for a truly immersive experience. This allows ample time to explore key spots like Murodo, Kurobe Dam, and Daikanbo without rushing. You can fully appreciate the scenic beauty, take photographs, and perhaps enjoy short hikes or specific activities at various points along the route.
A one-day trip allows you to traverse the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route and see its main highlights, such as the impressive Snow Walls (during season) and the magnificent Kurobe Dam. However, it requires careful time management and may involve less time for in-depth exploration or relaxing at specific viewpoints. It's suitable for travelers with limited time who wish to experience the route's core attractions efficiently.
The best time to visit the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route specifically to see the famous Snow Walls (Yuki-no-Otani) is from mid-April to late June. During this period, visitors can take a special walk through the towering snow corridor at Murodo, which can reach heights of up to 20 meters, offering a spectacular and unique experience.
To access the 'Snow Valley' snow walls, visitors must travel to Murodo Station, which is a key point along the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. From Murodo, the impressive snow corridor is just a short walk away. The route itself involves a series of unique vehicles, including cable cars and trolley buses, to reach Murodo, offering a diverse travel experience.
The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route offers several unforgettable experiences. Highlights include traversing diverse terrains using six different unique vehicles, witnessing the majestic Snow Walls at Murodo, marveling at the scale of the Kurobe Dam, and enjoying panoramic views of the Northern Alps from various observatories like Daikanbo and Murodo. The ever-changing seasonal landscapes, from snowscapes to autumn foliage, also add significant value to the visit.
Alongside the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, the tour includes unique seasonal attractions. Until April 22nd, visitors can experience Takato Castle Ruins Park, famous for its magnificent Kohigan cherry blossoms, recognized as one of the best in the world. From April 23rd onwards, the itinerary shifts to Azumino Daio Wasabi Farm, where guests can explore a pristine Japanese landscape and learn about wasabi cultivation.
Traveling the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is an adventure in itself, utilizing six distinct types of vehicles. These include the Tateyama Cable Car, Tateyama Kogen Bus, Tateyama Tunnel Trolley Bus, Tateyama Ropeway, Kanden Tunnel Electric Bus, and the Kurobe Cable Car. Each mode offers a different perspective of the stunning alpine landscape, from scenic bus rides to thrilling ropeway glides over valleys, providing a diverse and memorable journey.
At Murodo, which is the highest point on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route accessible by vehicle, visitors can expect to be surrounded by magnificent alpine scenery. Key activities include walking through the famous 'Snow Valley' snow walls (seasonal), exploring the Mikurigaike Pond (volcanic crater lake), and enjoying various walking trails that offer panoramic views of the Tateyama mountain range. It is also home to hotels and restaurants.
