Ensure your device is eSIM compatible and unlocked. Prioritize options that offer flexibility and reliable connectivity for your travel needs throughout Vietnam.

2. Is using an eSIM for mobile data permitted in Vietnam?

You can activate it remotely, making it ideal for immediate connectivity upon arrival and it seamlessly utilizes the local network infrastructure.

3. What are the best mobile data options for foreigners traveling in Vietnam?

For foreigners traveling in Vietnam, eSIMs are highly recommended due to their ease of use, allowing data access without physically changing SIM cards. While pocket Wi-Fi rentals offer another option, an eSIM directly integrates with your compatible smartphone for a streamlined experience.

4. How are the data plans and costs typically structured for eSIMs in Vietnam?

eSIM data plans in Vietnam are generally structured based on the amount of high-speed data included, such as 1GB, 2GB, or 6GB, often coupled with unlimited data at a reduced speed after the high-speed allowance is consumed. Plans usually specify a validity period (e.g., 5, 7, or 10 days) and aim to offer flexibility in choosing a suitable data volume for your travel duration and usage needs. Hotspot capabilities are frequently included.

5. Which mobile phone models are compatible with eSIMs for use in Vietnam?

Most newer smartphone models from leading manufacturers are compatible with eSIMs for use in Vietnam. This typically includes Apple iPhones (XR/XS and newer), Samsung Galaxy phones (S20 and newer), Google Pixel phones (Pixel 3 and newer), and various other high-end devices.
