- Attraction Introduction -

  • Tianmoushan:
Located north of Qingyu at an altitude of about 63 meters, this is the highest point in the northeast corner of Kinmen and was formerly a military observation post. Now open to the public, the Tianmoushan Trail offers a panoramic view from the summit. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Kinmen's northeast corner, overlooking the waters near Mashan, Houyu, and Caoyu, as well as the Dadeng and Xiaodeng islands across the sea.

  • Shishan Howitzer Front: Located behind the Shanhou Folk Culture Village, Shishan is the only remaining tunnel-style howitzer position. Also known as Zhendong Tunnel, its name implies 'guarding the east of Kinmen.' The 508-meter-long tunnel is quite spacious, with an average height of 4.6 meters and a width of 3.6 meters. Converted for tourism in 2011, visitors can explore the combat rooms, warehouses, ammunition rooms, and gun bunkers. The walls are inscribed with motivational slogans and military training mottos, preserving the complete facilities. Notably, the 8-inch howitzer, which played a crucial role during the 823 Artillery Bombardment, has a range of 17 kilometers and immense power, reflecting the intensity of the battles at that time.

  • Shanhou Folk Culture Village:
Completed in 1900 (the 26th year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty), these 18 residences are built against the mountain and face the sea. Their layout, style, and arrangement are uniform and orderly. Combined with colorful paintings, stone carvings, brick carvings, and ceramic decorations, the exquisite architectural style showcases traditional craftsmanship. Surrounded by defensive gates, they formed a secure living space against bandits, making it a masterpiece of Minnan architecture in Kinmen.

  • Ship-shaped Bunker:
Located on the coast of Hushan Bay in Jinsha, this three-story bunker features underground tunnels connecting to bunkers on both sides. It is named for its resemblance to a warship and is also known as 'Hushan Bunker.' No longer used for defense, the bunker is fronted by three layers of rail obstacles, which are quite eye-catching. This uniquely shaped bunker is a rare military site in Kinmen and a popular spot for travelers. The slogan 'Coexist with the Battlefield' inside the bunker highlights the hardship and perseverance of soldiers who shared the same fate on the island.

  • Gao Dong (High Cave):
Formerly the E-092 Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion, 2nd Company, you can still see the parking area for military vehicles near the entrance. The mysterious tunnel entrance, once overgrown with weeds, has been cleared specifically for this tour, making it easier to find! The grandeur of the tunnel makes us feel so small. It is cool inside and perfect for taking silhouette photos, so feel free to strike your best poses!

  • Chen Jinglan Western-style House:
Built in 1921 by Chen Jinglan, a Kinmen merchant who lived in Singapore, this is the largest Western-style house in Kinmen and a representative example of the 'Fan-zai Lou' (foreign-style houses) built by overseas Chinese returning to their hometown. Its pristine white exterior adds a touch of Western flair, while the exquisite carvings and symmetrical arches, reminiscent of Western architectural techniques, are the most impressive features of the Chen Jinglan Western-style House.
