Chinning Township

This was a day trip to Kinmen. Mr. Chen, sent by our company, was very responsible in taking care of the veterans and even arranged authentic local cuisine, which we enjoyed very much. He also picked us up very early, taking advantage of the high and low tides, to visit Jian Gong Island and observe the tides – it was wonderful! We also visited the veterans' barracks (we actually found the places from back then, and I was so moved I couldn't express it in words, stepping back onto this land almost 60 years ago). This is something many travel agencies can't do. Driving ourselves isn't really suitable for our family, so I sincerely recommend hiring a car if you have elderly or young children – it's definitely the best choice! In the hot summer, it's great to visit a soda factory or eat taro shaved ice. You can get comfortable in the car, and if you have a group, choose a larger vehicle for better comfort and a better view, including the Kinmen Bridge. I chose a larger car this time, and it was much more comfortable than a taxi. I highly recommend hiring a car – it's the best choice and perfect for independent family trips. It caters to all ages. No need to worry about getting tired; you can rest and enjoy the scenery as soon as you get on the bus. You can also just leave your luggage on the bus and go, shopping for souvenirs along the way – it's fantastic not having to carry heavy bags! This is the best Father's Day gift we could give our veterans!!
