Despite the rain, it was my first time in Hiroshima, while my friend had been there several times. We spent the day visiting Shukkei-en Garden (where hydrangeas are currently in bloom), the Atomic Bomb Dome, and the park. Thanks to the travel pass, it was a very fulfilling day.
Several times, we were asked if it was okay that we were on a tour with tourists from overseas, and indeed, out of 30 people on the tour, my wife and I were the only Japanese. But we had a wonderful time. We got along well with everyone, including a young lady from Australia and a family visiting from America. Thank you to the two guides for their thoughtfulness. They went out of their way to bring us Japanese brochures and occasionally quietly explained things in Japanese. We were very grateful. They were wonderful guides.
This card made my trip very smooth and was quick and easy to use at tourist attractions. It was also great value for money. I will definitely buy this unlimited travel pass again on my next visit.
The tour guide, Marin, was super sweet and funny! She did an amazing job taking us around. The Hiroshima Peace Museum is quite interesting, but if you're brought to tears easily, you might want to sit this one out. Otherwise, Miyajima is incredible and fantastic !!
