Katsuoji Temple

Our tour guide Kelly was fantastic and incredibly attentive!! While I understand that the time allotted for other parts of the itinerary couldn't be shortened, I still wish we could have spent more time at Himeji Castle. Himeji Castle is definitely worth exploring at a leisurely pace, Katsuo-ji Temple is beautiful and photogenic even though the hydrangeas were only partially in bloom, and Kobe Port is great for food and shopping. All three attractions are well worth a visit!

The vehicle was new, clean, and comfortable. Our guide, Noa, was very helpful and provided us with a lot of information. The six seals at Katsuo-ji Temple were really worth collecting. It would have been even better if we had spent more time in Arashiyama.

The weather was good, the car was comfortable, and the tour guide's service was good; he introduced the history of the attractions and some aspects of Japanese culture. Visiting three attractions in one day was a bit rushed, as each place had its own unique features, and transportation wasn't very convenient. Katsuo-ji Temple was beautiful, and the lake sprayed mist, giving it an ethereal feel.

I highly recommend driver Cai Weiping for a self-guided tour with elderly relatives. Since our accommodation required changing from Osaka to Kyoto, this day trip was perfect – conveniently connecting Osaka and Kyoto. Arriving early at Katsuo-ji Temple, there weren't many tourists, making it ideal for taking photos. After Katsuo-ji, there was ample time to explore Arashiyama. Even after returning to the hotel, we still had energy for leisurely strolls. If your accommodation involves changing from Osaka to Kyoto, you absolutely must book this tour! I can't imagine the hardship of lugging luggage and traveling all the way to Katsuo-ji and then Kyoto.

Buy and use immediately! No need to queue for tickets, quick entry – super convenient!! There are so many Daruma dolls, definitely worth seeing. You can also make a wish, and it's a great place for photos. A perfect trip, except the journey is a bit long, everything else was absolutely perfect!!

I highly recommend this itinerary! It efficiently covered three attractions in one day without feeling rushed. On the way to each attraction, our guide, Nick, introduced the history of each site in a fun and engaging way, even touching on aspects of Japanese culture. This ensured our visits weren't just superficial. I also enjoyed the complimentary matcha-making experience with lunch, making the trip a more meaningful cultural journey. Thank you, Nick, for showing us around Kyoto! We were already booked our accommodation in advance, otherwise we could have gotten off in Kyoto and continued exploring other parts of the city, saving on transportation costs and time – a great deal! I hope to bring my family next time!
