Lake Shikotsu

Our tour guide this time was Ms. Misaka, a Taiwanese woman who married and moved to Hokkaido. It felt incredibly welcoming. Because it was the off-season, there were only seven people on the bus, including the guide and driver, which I really appreciated. Ms. Misaka explained the unique features of Hokkaido to the tourists from different places in Chinese, English, and Japanese, providing detailed introductions to the scenic spots and offering flexible options. Although we opted for a tour that didn't include meals or the cable car, Ms. Misaka still suggested places to eat and recommended taking the cable car up the mountain for the views, given the great weather that day. We ended up buying our own cable car tickets (which were slightly more expensive than group tickets). Our driver, Paul, was a very smooth and enjoyable driver. Since most of the tourists stayed near Odori Park, the guide and driver arranged for us to drop off there, saving us a long walk – a very thoughtful touch. I highly recommend this tour!

We experienced many famous sights in Hokkaido in one day by bus. The lake scenery was beautiful, making the trip worthwhile. Lunch was at our own expense in the hot spring town. I recommend "Wang Yangti" (望羊体), which looks like a cafe from the outside but the food is actually excellent!

The tour guide's explanations were detailed yet concise, and the time allotted at each attraction was just right. It would be great if we could skip the White Lover statue and extend the time spent at the other attractions.

The tour leader was very enthusiastic in introducing the attractions. The itinerary was well-planned and very considerate of the tourists. There was plenty of time, even enough to soak in the hot springs.

The pre-trip contact information was very comprehensive, and the option to add the tour guide on Line or WeChat made it easy to contact them on the fly, which gave me peace of mind. Our tour guide, James, was friendly and enthusiastic, providing humorous and engaging commentary along the way. He switched smoothly between Chinese, English, and Japanese audio, and the itinerary for each attraction was well-planned with accurate time management. The bus was new and clean, and the driver drove smoothly. I would definitely choose KKDay again if I have the chance.
