We arrived before 8 AM. At LaLaport, they were already distributing entry order tags on the first floor. Then, we followed the signs to the third floor to exchange our tickets (the ticket windows were the same). Only one adult needed to handle the ticket purchase; the other adult could take the child and queue according to the order on the tags. The queue started moving slowly around 8:25 AM, and we actually entered around 8:40 AM. The park was quite large, with many professions to choose from. We immediately went for the firefighter role, which our child liked, and booked a 9:25 AM slot. Before that, since it wasn't 9 AM yet, we could only wait and see if any other professions would be available at 9 AM so as not to conflict with the 9:25 AM slot. Actually, besides needing the child to have enough stamina, it's difficult to control the booking time to play many professions, because once you book one, you can't book another. Around 10 AM, it's unlikely that any professions can be played without a reservation. Even if you're lucky enough to find an available profession, the time can easily conflict with your reservation time. We tried five different jobs that day, but didn't get to try any food-related jobs like making hamburgers or pizzas because we couldn't find a time that worked out. By the time we tried to book (around noon), there was a "jobs closed" sign. Anyway, the kids had a great time. Even though they didn't understand Japanese or English, they followed the guides and did what they were supposed to do in their jobs, and they looked adorable in the photos. (Some jobs in the park have staff to take photos of you, and you can buy the prints later if you want – my wallet is going to be empty!) Overall, it's a great experience if you have the time!
Besides his professional tour guide services, Tim was also very enthusiastic in recommending souvenirs and helping us avoid consumer traps. Because we were in a group with European and American tourists, Tim had to deliver the same content twice using dual-channel audio, making it a very rewarding experience.
