I'd been curious about Kotobuki no Yu ever since I saw it mentioned on Instagram, so I decided to try it out first thing in the morning. Looking at Instagram and their official website, I thought it was a new facility, but the hot springs were quite old, with moldy handrails, dirty bathtubs with mineral deposits, and a slimy feel, so it wasn't exactly a pleasant experience. However, they had a wide variety of baths including a carbonated bath, barrel sauna, jacuzzi, and electric bath, and there were plenty of books and manga, as well as lots of relaxing dens, which was great. Using a coupon, it was 1,700 yen instead of 1,900 yen for 13 hours! What a bargain! Well, we did spend about 10,000 yen for lunch and dinner for two people, but that's pretty much the same at any hot spring resort, so considering the variety of saunas and baths, the selection of books, and the abundance of dens and relaxation spaces, it was a great experience overall. It was a shame that we couldn't bring books into the dome tents. On the other hand, we were allowed to bring comics into one of the hot spring baths, so we didn't get bored there, which was nice. Personally, I felt that the menu had a lot of rich, heavy dishes, so it would have been nice if they had something like rice porridge or ochazuke (rice with tea). I would definitely like to use this facility again with a coupon.
