I've tried wearing kimonos in different places in Japan before, and each time I ended up looking terrible, either like a madam or chubby. But this time, the kimono and simple hairstyle made me look absolutely gorgeous! I was so happy with myself, and even my friends asked where I booked it. I wasn't even wearing makeup this time, and I looked stunning overall. The shop also had fans and umbrellas available for loan, which made for amazing photos. Although the shop is small, the staff's professionalism and division of labor were impeccable. I highly recommend the Yasaka Shrine Gion branch. After getting dressed, you can go straight to Yasaka Shrine for some photos, then walk to the nearby Nisaka and Misaka streets to head straight to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Afterwards, you can visit other attractions and then return to Yasaka Shrine.
The itinerary was full, a fulfilling day, the tour guide was professional and attentive, caring for each traveler, and the fixed-point explanation was not sloppy. The wagyu dishes purchased here are also great. The environment is clean and the service is great.
We booked a package for four people, which included a half-hour photoshoot, a great deal. Since we had a larger group, we added an extra hour. We arrived at the store at 11:30 AM on May 26th. They had a wide selection of kimonos, and while most of the staff were Japanese, some spoke Chinese, so communication was no problem at all. The photographer was Chinese and guided us throughout the shoot without any issues. Overall, a fantastic experience! Highly recommended!
Perfect for artsy types who love immersing themselves in traditional Japanese culture. Remember to get the audio guide and watch it carefully!
