The itinerary was fulfilling, and the tour guide was attentive. The only downside was the terrible food; it would be better if prices were raised and the food quality improved.
It was an enjoyable trip and we definitely enjoyed it, especially the Trang An boat tour it was so peaceful. Please note that the 500 steps up Mua Cave is not normal steps but more Great Wall of China type of steps, so be prepared if you plan to walk up.
We opted for a day trip to Lulong Bay, choosing only two attractions because the other attraction, Wu Cave, requires climbing 500 steps, which our family didn't want to do, and we wouldn't be back in Hanoi until 7:30 PM. With the two attractions, we returned to Hanoi at 6:30 PM. In the morning, we chose Bai Dinh Pagoda instead of a Hoa Lu tour because we're more interested in Buddhism. The pagoda complex is still expanding and is almost twice the size of Vinh Hoa City. Taking the electric cart in costs extra, which I thought was a bit pricey at 150,000 VND per person. Lunch was an all-you-can-eat buffet (excluding drinks) with a very generous selection of local dishes, including a wide variety of vegetarian options—a vegetarian-friendly restaurant. The highlight of the trip was a two-hour river cruise in the Trang An Ecological Park in the afternoon. The weather was cool and comfortable, and the river was anything but quiet, filled with small boats. Tourists passing by greeted each other, and the view of the boat entering the limestone caves was absolutely breathtaking. Definitely worth a visit.
