The University of Oxford was founded in 1096 and is the oldest university in the English-speaking world. Located in the city of Oxford, northwest of London, it does not have a unified walled campus but consists of 44 independent colleges spread throughout the ancient city, blending the city and the university into one. It is known as the cradle of British Prime Ministers and has produced numerous Nobel laureates. Famous figures such as Isaac Newton, Percy Bysshe Shelley, and J.R.R. Tolkien studied here. Key highlights include: Christ Church College (the prototype for Hogwarts Great Hall in Harry Potter), the Bridge of Sighs at Hertford College, the Bodleian Library (an ancient European library and a Harry Potter filming location), and the Radcliffe Camera. Each college has independent ticketing, and there may be visitor restrictions during terms and exams. The tour primarily involves walking through the ancient city streets, featuring medieval Gothic architecture and a rich academic atmosphere.
