Begin your day with a comfortable journey from Manchester into the heart of the Lake District National Park, where rolling countryside gradually gives way to dramatic fells, tranquil waters, and some of England's most spectacular scenery.

Your first stop is the bustling lakeside town of Bowness-on-Windermere, beautifully situated on the shores of England's largest lake. Here, you'll have the opportunity to take a scenic cruise on Lake Windermere. While the cruise is optional, it is highly recommended as it offers an unforgettable perspective of the Lake District's stunning landscapes, with panoramic views of wooded shorelines, rugged hills, and charming lakeside villages. If you prefer to stay on land, enjoy some free time exploring the town's shops, cafés, and waterfront promenade.

From Bowness, travel along winding country roads through the heart of the national park to the picturesque village of Grasmere, a place so beautiful that William Wordsworth famously described it as "the loveliest spot that man hath found." Take time to soak up the village's peaceful atmosphere, visit local attractions, or sample the renowned Grasmere Gingerbread.

The journey continues through some of the Lake District's most breathtaking scenery, passing Coniston Water, where you'll enjoy magnificent views across the lake and the surrounding fells before arriving in the charming conservation village of Hawkshead.

With its cobbled lanes, whitewashed cottages, and rich literary heritage, Hawkshead is one of the Lake District's most enchanting villages. Explore at your leisure, browse independent shops, and discover the place where William Wordsworth attended grammar school.
