Product Info

Highland Foodie Experiences is a guided walking tour through Inverness, starting at 12:30pm and running over four hours at an easy, unhurried pace. Groups are capped at 12 guests, so it never feels like being herded — your guide is with you the whole way, pointing out what you'd otherwise walk straight past and keeping the stories coming, so five very different stops feel like one afternoon rather than five separate errands.

It opens the way any good Highland afternoon should: proper pub grub, land and sea both represented on the plate, in a spot that's been feeding locals longer than most of the buildings around it have stood. A bite to eat, a welcome drink, and a chance to actually meet the people you're about to spend the next four hours with.

From there, it turns somewhere more unexpected: a food hub in the middle of the city that still carries real foodie history, even as what's sold inside has moved with the times. This is the stop with a dare built in — something most guests wouldn't order for themselves, paired with a drink chosen to make it work. Every group reacts differently, and that's rather the point.

Next is the stop for people who care about ingredients rather than just eating them: a carefully curated tasting of produce representing the very best of the Highlands and its coastline. Precision rather than quantity — the kind of stop where you slow down and start to understand why the people making it take it so seriously.

Then the pace deliberately drops. The fourth stop is built for down time — somewhere properly local, casual and unpretentious, with good craft drinks and no pressure to be anywhere else for a while.

The tour closes with a proper Highland send-off: something sweet, a final drink, and a toast that pulls the afternoon together with a bit of storytelling to send you off in style.

This isn't a tour that shows you buildings and calls it culture. It's built for people who'd rather understand a place through what's on the table than a plaque on a wall — couples after an afternoon that isn't just another photo stop, friends wanting a proper day out with some substance, solo travellers hoping to actually talk to people, and anyone tired of "highlights" tours that skim past what actually matters to the people who live there.

Three alcoholic drinks are included across the experience, alongside food at every stop. Because alcohol is served throughout, this tour is for guests 18 and over only. The menu is fixed, so every guest gets the same carefully considered experience — we're not currently able to cater to dietary requirements or allergies, as keeping the menu consistent is part of what makes the tour the best it can be.

Come with an appetite and a bit of curiosity, and leave with a full stomach and lifelong memories!
