A premium adventure to enjoy the great nature of Hokkaido in one day
This is a Connectrip original guided tour that combines trekking and fat biking.
After hiking Mt. Mokoto in Akan-Mashu National Park and enjoying the stunning view of Lake Kussharo, one of Japan's largest caldera lakes, you will head downhill on an exhilarating off-road fat bike ride. You can experience Hokkaido's magnificent nature with your whole body by walking and riding.
The tour is limited to September through December. It is held from autumn to early winter, a comfortable time with fewer insects. The beautiful scenery unique to this season, such as mountains colored by autumn leaves and crisp, clear air, is a major attraction. Depending on the timing, you may encounter snowy landscapes, and since fat bikes can ride stably on snow, it can be a special experience that lets you feel the beginning of winter in Hokkaido.
At the summit, we provide a lunch of coffee brewed with 'Ginreisui,' the famous spring water of Mt. Mokoto, and handmade hot sandwiches. Enjoying lunch surrounded by great nature is a luxurious time unique to this tour.
In the afternoon, head downhill on the forest road by fat bike. The exhilaration of racing through unpaved off-road paths is exceptional. At the end of the tour, we will take you to a scenic spot where you can overlook the Sea of Okhotsk, the Shiretoko Mountain Range, and the Kussharo Caldera.
A dedicated guide will accompany you, so even those new to trekking or fat biking can participate with confidence. Rental equipment, insurance, and lunch are all included in the price, so you can easily enjoy the great nature of Hokkaido.

Schedule (Tentative)
08:00 Meet and check-in at Connectrip
After check-in, we will load the fat bikes and equipment and depart for Mt. Mokoto in a private vehicle.
08:30 Depart from Connectrip
Head to Akan-Mashu National Park while enjoying the rural scenery typical of Hokkaido from the car window.
09:30 Arrive at Highland Koshimizu 725 and start trekking
Trek towards the summit of Mt. Mokoto. Walk while enjoying the spectacular views overlooking Lake Kussharo, the Shiretoko Mountain Range, and the Sea of Okhotsk.
12:00 Arrive at Ginreisui and lunch time
After trekking, we will provide a lunch of coffee brewed with 'Ginreisui,' the famous spring water of Mt. Mokoto, and handmade hot sandwiches. Please enjoy a special lunch time surrounded by great nature.
13:00 Start fat biking
Head downhill on the Mt. Mokoto forest road by fat bike. Enjoy the great nature of Hokkaido while exhilaratingly racing through unpaved off-road paths.
13:30 Arrive at the national highway parking lot
Load the fat bikes and return to Connectrip in a private vehicle.
14:30 Arrive at Connectrip
15:00 Dismissal
