Leaving Cape Town towards east. Start our journey into the whale coastline will take us past some of cape Town and South Africa's most well known townships. The first one Langa, is the oldest township in south Africa dated back from 1823. Compared to other squatter like townships of South Africa, Langa is well developed and has seen a local economy here grow from strength to strength over the years. Some of the new notable Industries here includes ceramic manufacturing, Traditional South African Bistros as well as filming. Safe house by Denzell Washington is one of the most famous movies that were filmed here.

Khayelitsha is Xhosa for ' Our New Home'. Situated 20 minutes east of Langa. Measuring 10 square miles and inhabiting more than half million people. It is the biggest and most populous township in Cape Town. Khayelitsha also has her own local economy, but the vast majority of her inhabitants travels daily to the City for work. Some of Khayelitsha's residents also work in the rich wine lands of Stellenbosch, as this is much closer to them compared to the City.
Macassar named after Yusuf- Al Makasari who was in prison in Robben island and banished in Macassar, pass by Somerset west, Strand and stop at Goldon's Bay very well known for it's two harbour.

Take a long drive pass by Pringle Bay, Pringle Bay has a long history dated back from the stone age, it's name from the royal naval commander in chief called Thomas Pringle and drive pass Fisherhaven,Elgin known to be the largest Apple growing and through Betty's Bay situated on the south western coastline, the town is named after Betty Youlden she was the daughter of Arthur Youlden the first developer of the area, tourism plays a big role in the economy of this town because of having the Penguin's Colony and the Botanical Garden

The travellers will make the way to Hermanus,
Upon arrival at Hermanus Harbour, travellers can opt for 2 hours boat ride for a closer look( Own expense) travellers will be provided with a 15 to 20 minutes safety Briefing as well as what's the expectation once they sail out the sea travellers will be given the full details about the whales behaviour of the southern right whales as too why the come to our shores during june until mid December, the boat capacity 80 people in total. The return trip should take 2 hours.

You will be heading to Hermanus town very well known as whales capital with the famous southern right whales, you will stand on the coastal cliffs and watch as giant whales swim, frolic and calf in the warm waters off this cliffside, here land base whale watching can be done as well.
