Motoise Kono Shrine

Visit Tango Ichinomiya Motoise Kono Shrine, the region's most prestigious shrine. According to legend, the deities enshrined at Ise Grand Shrine—Amaterasu Omikami and Toyouke Omikami—were once worshipped here before being transferred to Ise, earning the shrine its name, "Moto Ise" (Original Ise). Be sure to try one of the shrine's popular fortune slips (omikuji).
