-What you can expect-
Get ready to be whisked back in time to 79 AD, when Pompeii was frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. On this private tour, you'll step into the sandals of the ancient Romans, soaking up the buzz of public life, while exploring the luxurious lifestyles of the elite. Maria Novella, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘This UNESCO site is renowned for its Roman ruins so you're in for a real treat. Can you believe this entire city lay hidden for 1,500 years until a farmer stumbled upon it – completely by chance.’

The tour kick starts at the Forum – the bustling heart of ancient Pompeii. Grab your cameras and snap up pics of iconic landmarks like the basilica, marketplace, and temples. You'll even feel like you're rubbing elbows with the toga-clad locals, unwinding after a day at the baths. And, as you stroll along the cobbled streets, your local expert will unveil the daily routines, traditions, and customs of Pompeii, transforming your experience into more than just a history lesson.

Next up, get ready for a taste of luxury exploring the private houses and villas of Pompeii, decked out in frescoes, mosaics, and fountains. Along the way, you'll encounter plaster casts of victims frozen in time – a reminder of Pompeii's tragic fate. Plus, you'll have the chance to explore newly excavated areas and the latest discoveries, like the Insula dei Casti Amanti, adding an extra thrill to your adventure. What's more, if you visit on a week day, you'll be able to see professional archaeologists working on new excavations.
