The Turin Chocolate & Wine Tasting Experience｜Italy

Our local guide will provide an overview of Turin, its role in the development of Italian identity, and how food and wine have thrived in this region during 800 years of Savoyard rule. Like a bohemian, you will start the experience in a historic café.

First, you will try Bicerin, a traditional chocolate drink that was and still is consumed in these 19th-century cafés.

You will then move on to a cozy place and you will have a lesson about chocolate, with insights offered by the guide, and sample a selection of bean to bar fine chocolates and then traditional chocolates like Gianduiotto and Cremino. Gianduiotto name comes from Gianduja: made by blending finely ground hazelnuts with chocolate to create a smooth and indulgent treat. Gianduja has a fascinating history, originating in Turin and dating back to the 19th century when cocoa was scarce and expensive. The chocolate tastings will be 100% organic and “bean to bar” products.

Then you will move on to a wine tasting. Turin and Piedmont are famous for their wines, produced in vineyards on the slopes of the Alps. Your guide will lead you through a tasting of two iconic wines, featuring white and red varieties, paired with an organic cured meat and cheese platter. You will also receive a relaxed lesson on drinking like a professional sommelier and understanding the aromas behind each wine.
