Product Info

Less than an hour from Lisbon, we find Sintra, an ancient royal sanctuary, where History became gardens. In Sintra, you will discover Pena Palace, the work of D. Fernando II, a lover of Romanticism, the eccentric Quinta da Regaleira, with is unique architecture. While strolling through the tangle of alleys in the center of the village, you can stop at Piriquita and taste the delicious Travesseiros (pillows, made of almond and egg yolk) and Queijadas (cheesecakes). Sintra is known for its microclimate as it is located between the mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, so if the weather permits, how about a lunch near a beach? And since we are there let´s go and visit Azenhas do Mar, a village nestled into the hillsides.
The way back to Lisbon, its all along the seaside, stopping at the westernmost point in Europe, Cabo da Roca, where the land ends and the sea begins, and in the picturesque fishing village of Cascais. In the second half of the XIX century, sea bathing began to be normalized and when King D. Luis I made the Cascais fortress is summer residence, the nobility transformed the fishing village into a seaside resort with its palaces and palatial villas. Even today Cascais is known for its aristocratic look.
