Visit the city of Oświęcim, 60 kilometers from Krakow, where the largest concentration camp of the Nazis was located during World War II. Learn about the history of the site, where more than one million people were killed.

Hear about the final evacuation and liquidation of Auschwitz in mid-January 1945. Visit the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, which was created in 1947. See the museum grounds, which became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.
