Product Info

On this 3-hour-long guided walking tour in the city centre of Budapest I will show you a great number of stunning buildings so that you can ’taste’ the atmosphere of Budapest at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Amazing facades, Hungary’s third largest Catholic church, the world’s second largest synagogue, a lovely garden and a UNESCO Cultural World Heritage Site promenade with panoramic views on the Buda side of the city await you among others in this tour.
Starting our tour on Small Boulevard we will first have a look at the Hungarian National Museum with the statue of the ’Hungarian Shakespeare’ standing in front of it where I will tell you why this museum is of special importance for us, Hungarians.
Then we will take our way towards the UNESCO World Heritage Site Pest Danube Promenade from where you can have panoramic views on the whole Castle District with its pearls, the Royal Buda Palace, Matthias Church and Fisherman’s Bastion. I will show you gorgeous facades of Art Nouveau style palaces, beautiful churches - among them the oldest church of the city - and we will also pass by one of Budapest's most elegant, historic coffee houses.
We will see one of the most fashionable confectioner’s of the former and today’s Budapest, the venue for Europe’s best Christmas market, a tree in memoriam of the King of Pop and the square where today’s Budapest youth most frequently gathers also walking by the Ferris Wheel of Budapest.
After that we continue our tour towards Hungary’s third largest Catholic church keeping one of Hungary’s invaluable national relics. I will talk about the story of the construction of this great basilica and I will give you a full architectural description of the building.
Then - after touching the starting point of the 'Champs-Élysées of Budapest' - we take a look at the Dohány Street Synagogue which is the second largest synagogue in the world and we explore some other beautiful historical buildings on Small Boulevard.
During the tour I will entertain you with interesting stories about former famous residents of the city, about great Hungarians to whom we can mainly thank today's cityscape of Budapest and I will also tell you legends related to great Hungarian kings and saints.
We end our tour in a lovely garden where I will let you have a taste of Hungarian culture by singing you some beautiful Hungarian folk songs and showing you traditional Hungarian folk dance steps!
