Product Info

Discover Ghent, one of Belgium’s best-preserved medieval cities, on a full-day trip from Brussels. Explore the historic city centre with your guide, enjoy free time to discover Ghent at your own pace, and choose to add a relaxing boat cruise through the city’s historic waterways.

Your day begins in Brussels, where you’ll meet your guide and board a comfortable bus to Ghent. Depending on the day’s itinerary, you’ll also make a stop at the iconic Atomium, one of Belgium’s most recognisable landmarks. Take some time to admire its unique structure and capture photos before continuing your journey. The Atomium stop may take place before or after your visit to Ghent.

Once in Ghent, follow your guide through the historic heart of the city and discover its medieval heritage. See the imposing Castle of Gerald the Devil, St. Bavo’s Cathedral and the famous Ghent Belfry. Admire St. Nicholas’ Church, the historic Town Hall and the former Masons’ Guild Hall as you explore the city’s picturesque streets and squares.

Continue along the Graslei, one of Ghent’s most beautiful quays, and discover the impressive Gravensteen Castle and the charming Patershol neighbourhood. Along the way, your guide will share stories about Ghent’s history, architecture and traditions, including the city’s famous “noose-bearers.”

Discover Ghent’s historic trading heritage as you pass landmarks such as the Great Butchers’ Hall, the Old Fish Market and the lively Friday Market.

After the guided visit, enjoy around 4 hours of free time to have lunch, explore independently, shop, or return to your favourite spots.

You can also choose to add a relaxing boat cruise through Ghent’s historic waterways. Sail past medieval buildings, picturesque quays and historic bridges while seeing the city from a different perspective.

At the end of the day, meet your group at the designated meeting point and travel back to Brussels by bus.
