■ Three Highlights of the Trip
Ⅰ. Visit a 'Living Museum' Where History Breathes
Uchiko Town in Ehime Prefecture flourished during the Edo and Meiji periods through the wax industry. Stroll through the townscape that preserves its beautiful atmosphere from that era, and knock on the doors of a blacksmith shop that has supported local industry for over 100 years.
Ⅱ. A Spiritual Story Following 'Mindfulness, Creation, and Imagination'
This experience is more than just manual labor. It is a story of spiritual transformation that begins with 'mindfulness' as you strike the iron to a rhythm, moves to 'creation' as you shape it yourself, and leads to 'imagination' as you give form to the town's culture.
Ⅲ. One-of-a-Kind Crafts Born from Your Own Hands
You will craft three items with your own hands: a keychain, a paper knife, and a candle holder. As a gift, you will also receive a traditional Uchiko 'Japanese candle' to go with your set. When the experience ends, you will leave with a tool that lasts a lifetime and memories to match.

Product Info

Uchiko Town in Ehime Prefecture is a production center for Japanese candles and washi paper. Though a small town in the mountains, it remains a popular destination for town strolls, as it still retains a beautiful atmosphere that flourished through the wax industry from the late Edo to Meiji periods. At a blacksmith shop with over 100 years of history that has supported various industries in this region, you can experience making iron items with direct instruction from a 4th-generation blacksmith.
The experience is structured in three steps, telling a story of facing iron through 'mindfulness,' 'creation,' and 'imagination.'

【STEP 1】
Grasp the basics of striking and bending red-hot iron bars. First, strike mindlessly without thinking. Savor the sensation of the iron changing as it is transmitted to your hands. The iron you bend as you please becomes a keychain.

【STEP 2】
Use a thicker iron bar to make a paper knife. Shape it flat to become a knife. The shape of the handle is also up to you. The paper knife you create just as you imagine will last a lifetime.

【STEP 3】
Finally, use all the skills you have acquired to create a candle holder. Uchiko Town is a production center for Japanese candles. A Japanese candle is included as a gift.

When the entire experience is over, in your hands will be a one-of-a-kind 'keychain,' 'paper knife,' and 'candle holder' in the world...
