- Chibi Maruko-chan Land -
Chibi Maruko-chan Land is located in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City, the Furusato of the author Momoko Sakura, and is the only permanent Chibi Maruko-chan museum in Japan. The museum faithfully recreates classic scenes such as the 'Sakura family home' where Maruko lives, the 'Class 3-4 classroom' where she attends school, and the familiar shopping street from the series, making you feel as if you have stepped into Maruko's daily life.
In addition to the recreated scenes, you can also admire the author's original hand-drawn manuscripts and animation materials at the 'Sakura Momoko Gallery' to learn about the creative process behind the work. The park also features character costume rentals for photos, sand art and wood burning workshops, and the 'Mitsuya' candy shop that appears in the series, operating as a traditional dagashiya, perfectly blending the story with reality (some activities require additional fees, subject to on-site announcements).
Transportation is very convenient; it takes about 10 minutes by free shuttle bus from JR 'Shimizu Station', making it perfect for a half-day or full-day trip in Shimizu.
3 Years, 4 Classrooms: The classroom scene of the elementary school that Chibi Maruko-chan attended is realistically recreated, making you feel like a member of the class and enjoy this fun-filled time together!
Sakura Family Daily Life 4-Panel Comic: Authentically recreating each room of the Sakura family home, allowing viewers to experience the nostalgic atmosphere of the Chibi Maruko-chan era. Follow the dialogue as you move from room to room, enjoying the story as if reading a 4-panel comic.
Chibi Maruko-chan Shrine: A shrine said to bring good luck after a visit. The fortune slips inside the shrine are all newly drawn and written by Momoko Sakura herself, making them very unique and heartwarming, full of positive energy.
Maruko-chan and the Dream Tram: Displaying a 3D model of "Maruko-chan and the Dream Tram". This recreates a scene from the opening sequence of the anime, where Maruko and her friends ride the tram. Where will it take them?
