Detailed itinerary for the Asahikawa-Biei-Elf Terrace Illumination Day Trip

Meet at Sapporo Station at 09:30 and depart.

Meet at the designated location at Sapporo Station and depart on time to begin your leisurely winter snow country tour.

Enjoy the winter scenery of Hokkaido along the way and travel to the Asahikawa area in a comfortable car ride.

Stroll around Miyamoto Park and Asahikawa Station (approx. 90 minutes)

Upon arrival, embark on a leisurely city walk through the snowy landscape.

In winter, the park in front of the palace is covered with thick snow, quiet and pure, without noisy crowds, making it perfect for a leisurely stroll and taking photos.

Around 12:00 PM, we will drive to the area around Asahikawa Station for free time and lunch (lunch at your own expense). Here, you can slow down and feel the winter atmosphere of Asahikawa, instead of rushing to see the sights.

Biei Christmas Tree (approx. 15 minutes)

Head to Biei's iconic Christmas tree. A solitary tree stands amidst the vast snowfields, creating a simple and pure scene—a classic winter landscape in Hokkaido.

Whitebeard Waterfall (approx. 30 minutes)

Head to Biei's famous natural landmark – Shirabe Falls. This is a rare example of an underground waterfall in Japan, where groundwater flows into the Biei River, and the water cascades down like a white beard.

In winter, the blue river contrasts sharply with the white snow, creating a particularly dreamlike scene. Please allow ample time for free exploration and photography.

Lighting up the Fairy Terrace (approximately 50 minutes)

We arrived at the Fairy Terrace in the evening. As night fell, the forest cabins were illuminated by warm yellow lights, making it feel like stepping into a fairy tale world.

You can stroll freely along the wooden boardwalk and experience the romantic atmosphere that is only available during winter.

This is the most emotionally resonant highlight of the entire trip.

Cold Weather Gear Recommendations

Temperatures are very low outdoors in Hokkaido during winter. Please wear a windproof and waterproof thick jacket, thermal underwear, and non-slip snow boots. Also, bring cold-weather accessories such as a hat, gloves, and a scarf.

If you participate in snow activities or rafting, your clothes may get wet from the snow. We recommend keeping an extra pair of socks or a change of clothes in the vehicle.
